Everything You Need to Have a Healthy Baby

Having a baby is one of the most exciting events in your life. But it can often be a little overwhelming. At the Centinela Campus of Centinela Hospital Medical Center, our team of skilled physicians and nurses is ready to assist patients during their pregnancy — and after their delivery, too.

Preparing for A Healthy Beginning

Our care for you begins the moment you think you’re pregnant. Call us and we will refer you to a physician who provides free pregnancy testing as part of the Healthy Babies Program. It is important you continue with regular prenatal care appointments with your physician. If needed, we will help you apply for Medi-Cal.

What New Parents Need to Know

On the day of your delivery, it’s important to know where to go and what to expect when you arrive at the hospital. To help make your arrival go smoothly, we offer hospital tours. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other new parents who are sharing your same experience. Another helpful option is to pre-admit before your seventh month of pregnancy so that you have less paperwork to complete upon arrival. Please call (866) 632-BABY(2229) to register for a hospital tour.

When the Big Day Arrives

Eventually, all the waiting — especially that long last month — is over. It is assuring to know that our Healthy Babies Program provides a wide range of maternity services designed to make each patient’s birth experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. These include:

  1. Spacious labor, delivery and recovery rooms, which provide a comfortable family-centered birth experience. After delivery, mother and baby can rest comfortably in a private room with nurses available to assist in their care
  2. Anesthesia specialists available 24 hours
  3. Flexible visiting hours for family members and friends

A Staff Dedicated to Your Needs

Our panel of specialists includes board-certified obstetricians, neonatologists (physicians specializing in at-risk newborns), a full-time anesthesia staff and professional, highly skilled nurses.

Highly Specialized Care

While we hope you’ll never have to use our neonatal intensive care unit, you can take comfort in knowing it’s available in case of an emergency. Our 13-bed NICU offers a wide range of up-to-date medical technology in a friendly, comfortable, and quiet environment. Our staff has specialized training and experience and is dedicated to caring for babies who have complications, often working on a one-to-one basis with an infant who needs constant attention.

Taking Your Baby Home

The care and safety of your newborn is a priority to you — and to us. When you deliver at the Centinela Campus of Centinela Hospital Medical Center, we’ll send you and your baby home with free gifts.  It is our way of thanking you for allowing us be a part of this big event.
